About Santos

Situated in the state of São Paulo, the Santos region encompasses several municipalities, including Santos itself, as well as neighboring areas like São Vicente and Guarujá. Its proximity to major ports, including the Port of Santos, facilitates the export of coffee beans to international markets.

Santos has a rich history in coffee cultivation, dating back to the early 19th century when coffee plantations began to flourish in the region. It played a pivotal role in establishing Brazil as one of the world's leading coffee producers.

The Santos region benefits from a favourable climate and topography for coffee cultivation. Its moderate temperatures, well-distributed rainfall, and rich, fertile soil create optimal conditions for growing high-quality coffee beans.

The Santos region is particularly known for producing Bourbon varietal coffee beans, prized for their smooth, sweet flavour profile and balanced acidity. These beans thrive in the region's microclimates, contributing to the distinctive taste of Santos Bourbon Coffee.
